These cottages are positioned on sloping rocky terrain and involved blasting 4m into the hillside to allow the footprint to sit comfortably within the landscape. The use of rock to encompass the cottages, lends the impression that they have being here for some time.

Utilising local turf to cover the roof means the cottages have little visual impact, and they also make use of environmentally friendly air source heat pumps and under floor heating to give an enhancing warmth to the interior, which is further complimented by wood burning stoves for those wild Hebridean nights.
